ReplyDeleteHi Aileen, I'm a follower now! :D
ReplyDeleteSteampunk style is AMAZING! The more I see gears, bolts, washers, wires, etc., being used in such creative ways, the more inspired I become. I've seen it used with creating dolls, used with sculpy/fimo clays, paintings, and so many other ways. I've got some watch gears here...need to get busy and figure out what to do with them!
ReplyDeletePosted the link on my Facebook page...Great Site! I love your work and your inspiration to all! http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1485892523

fantastic giveaway, what I like about steampunk? it gives a unique use for items that would otherwise be mundane and usually not given a second thought about.
ReplyDeleteSteampunk is a term I am unfamiliar with. I'd love to learn more about it. Certainly this type of art is thinking outside the box - how much fun is that!?!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE STEAMPUNK.... Steampunk is my favorite style at the moment give me paper, ink and a gear and i am game. What an awesome giveaway... I would love this book. I did check out the Floydagain's Steampunk
ReplyDeleteThermometers. THANKS for the giveaway.
I like Steampunk because of the gears first off! I like the nostalgic mix of Victorian art/items with imaginary steam engines. As mentioned before, I like the gears and other pieces of the steam engines imagined by the artist.
ReplyDeleteThanks.

Congrats to hubby Aileen! Yay! Put me in the hat will you please? Will be back when I've tweeted and all that stuff!
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway, Aileen! I really enjoyed making my Steampunk Debutante mini album last October using the fabulous graphic45 collection of papers and embellishments. What I like about Steampunk is the romance of Victorian times "coupled with the hope and promise of futuristic design." (paraphrased from the Castle TV show)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your husband!
"Tomorrow ... as it used to be"

I love Steampunk - it has a very cool and sophisticated Victorian look. I've always loved the Jules Verne movies and time machine movies. I love the steampunk look of the long black coat, hat and goggles! This book would be awesome to own! And the thermometers are very cool too, Floydagain!

ReplyDeleteI love steampunk because of the juxtaposition of such interesting elements - assemblage before assemblage became trendy.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win.
Rinda
forgot to said - I just got 7 of my steampunk project into "just steampunk" magazine.
ReplyDeletePlease let me win this - smiles...
I love the way steampunk is a little bit vintage and a little bit futuristic at the same time.
ReplyDeleteWhat I love about steam punk is it reminds me so much of my Dad. He was a "junque" collector and always saw the potential of other peoples' cast-offs - so often metal and machinery. Our back yard was "steam punk" way before its time - LOL! I would love to start putting some things together in memory of him. It is awesome of you to have a give-away of the book. I haven't done any steam punk yet, but would love to give it a try.

ReplyDeletejcwga@hotmail.com
i love the dichotomy of here and now, then and there. the idea that these fantastical machines might (and some do!)work. The notion of industry and fantasy intersecting.
ReplyDeleteAnd it just looks cool!

I love steampunk because it represents possibility...no matter how abstract it may be, it just may be!
